Hesperia woman says worker who dragged her dog on video should be fired.

HESPERIA >> The woman whose dog was dragged on a video that went viral last week wants the Hesperia Animal Control workers on the video fired.

Tracie Carpenter, who owns three other dogs and three cats, couldn’t believe it when she first saw the video posted onto a Facebook discussion group last Thursday:

“‘That’s my dog,’” Carpenter recalled on Tuesday. “‘Why is the girl who’s dragging her, like she’s an inanimate object, not even the least bit concerned? You could tell that the girl clearly was not afraid of her: She knew she wasn’t aggressive.’”

“The whole thing is disturbing,” said Councilman Paul Russ, who recommended pricing surveillance cameras for the animal shelter. “Somebody didn’t follow procedure. We do have carts for this exact thing. We even have specially made carts for animals that bite.”
