POMONA >> Police busted an “elaborate marijuana grow” Friday, confiscating more than 600 pot plants.
Officers first learned about the operation through a tip and served a search warrant at a warehouse in the 2700 block of North Towne Avenue on Friday afternoon, according to a police statement.
Inside the building officers found 630 mature marijuana plants weighing about 300 pounds, according to the police statement.
They arrested Phillip Startsman, 35, and booked him on suspicion of cultivating marijuana and possessing prescription drugs for sale.
“The illegal operation was found to be a hub for the distribution of marijuana to local dispensaries,” police said.
