Rescue Equipment Worth $200K Stolen From Closed San Bernardino Fire Station

SAN BERNARDINO —Firefighters sought the public’s help Saturday to locate rescue equipment worth $200,000 that was stolen from a closed fire station.

According to the San Bernardino City Fire Department, the rescue equipment was stored in a conex box located behind Station 10, which had been closed since October 2014 due to budget reductions.

Authorities explained a crew went to the station to pick up some equipment for upcoming training, and noticed someone had tampered with the lock.

Police were notified of the crime.

Officials reported frontline technical rescue and trench shoring equipment was stolen from the locked conex box.

It remains unclear when the equipment was stolen since the station is no longer in use.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the San Bernardino City Fire Department at (909) 384-5402.
