Sunday, March 22, 2015 at approximately 10:50 P.M., an older model Chevrolet Suburban crashed into a vacant residence at the corner of Tawney Ridge Lane and Ferndale Road.
According to reports, the male driver was traveling northbound on Ferndale Road prior to the crash. As the driver approached the stop sign he reached down to pick-up his cell phone that had fallen onto the floor of the vehicle. The Suburban rolled through the stop, jumped the curb, knocked over a tree, and eventually came to rest at the front entrance of the vacant home.
Following the crash the driver was alert and coherent. As a precaution he was checked out by medical personal for any injuries at the scene.
Building and Safety was requested to asses the property for structural damage.
