MUSCOY >> Four people were without a home Wednesday evening after fire destroyed their single-wide mobile home.
San Bernardino County firefighters were dispatched to a property in the 1900 block of West Highland at 5:25 p.m.
Smoke from the fire could be seen in Fontana, said Chris Prater, a Fire Department spokesman.
When firefighters arrived at 5:35 p.m. the mobile home was engulfed in flames, which were flapping at a neighbor’s house.
“Our primary (focus) at that time is to keep the fire from spreading,” Prater said.

One neighboring home sustained minor damage to an outside wall as firefighters knocked down the blaze in about 30 minutes.
A resident was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, and a firefighter was taken to a hospital with a minor injury, according to Prater.
An investigator combing through the charred rubble hadn’t identified a cause Thursday evening but estimated damages to be $60,000.
