Sheriff’s Citizen on Patrol Program

This is a unique opportunity to actively assist the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Departments Central Station serving the communities of Loma Linda, Grand Terrace, San Manuel and the County areas of San Bernardino. Applications are now being accepted for volunteers over the age or 18 to join the Citizens on Patrol unit. The program is designed for local residents who want to make a differnce in their communty and who have an interest in helping law enforcement. The Citizen Patrol program is a team of highly trained volunteers who serve as the eyes and ears for law enforcement. Volunteer's will attend a 40- hour training academy receiving extensive patrol related training covering topics such as crime prevention, driver awareness, traffic control, neighborhood watch, radio procedures, CPR and First Aid and media relations. To qualify for the program, a volunteer must have a high school dipolma (or equivalent), a good driving record, no felony convictions, be a US citizen, and pass a background investigation.
