Members past and present of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Specialized Investigation Division Crimes Against Children Detail were recognized for years of dedication and commitment to the children of San Bernardino County at the 17th Annual Shine a Light on Child Abuse Awards Breakfast on Thursday, April 2, at the National Orange Show in San Bernardino.
The annual event, hosted by Children’s Network, is held as a kick-off for Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month in April. The honorees included: Captain Danielle Boldt, Lt. Roberto Lomeli, Sgt. Tyson Niles, Sgt. Dana Foster, Detectives Tina Kirby, David Clifford, Jennifer Burkhart, Jason Frey, Jon Everman, Lisa Guerra and Michelle Brand, Special Program Coordinator James Black and Reserve Deputy Peter Headley.
“The award showcases the efforts of these men and women who fight on behalf of victimized children around the county – victims who are usually too small to stand up for themselves,” stated Sheriff John McMahon. “The Crimes Against Children Detail are heroes who often stand between a child and an abuser and seek to bring justice to those who would harm children.”
