Michael Orozco, 43, and Stephanie Armijo, 26, both of Los Angeles, were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possession of equipment used to make fraudulent credit cards and being felons in possession of a firearm. Armijo was also booked on four outstanding warrants, officials said.
San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies were called to the Best Western Hotel at 8179 Spruce Ave. on Tuesday for a person sleeping outside on the second-floor landing, according to a sheriff’s release.
Deputies said they spoke to Orozco, reportedly a documented gang member from Los Angeles, and Armijo, his friend.
During a search of Orozco’s car, deputies reportedly found drugs, a loaded firearm with an altered serial number under the front seat and documents indicating the potential of at least 300 victims of identity theft, according to sheriff’s officials. Deputies also seized a credit card machine, software and computers which they believe could be used to print forged credit cards. No victim information was immediately available.
Bail was set at $50,000 for each person. Additionally, Armijo’s warrants increased her bail to a total of $200,000.
