On May 1, 2015, during the hours of 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m., deputies and officers from several law enforcement agencies participated in a SMASH Operation that was conducted out of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Central Station. Sheriff’s Deputies from Rancho Cucamonga, Narcotics and Gangs, Highland, Fontana, and Chino Hills. Along with Officers from San Bernardino, Redlands, Montclair, Fontana, Rialto, Upland, Chino, Colton, Barstow, Parole, San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, Probation and California Highway Patrol.
SMASH (San Bernardino County Movement Against Street Hoodlums) is comprised of deputies and officers from agencies throughout San Bernardino County with gang expertise.
A total of 92 law enforcement officers saturated the unincorporated area of San Bernardino and the cities of Loma Linda and Grand Terrace working proactive patrol. A total of 92 arrests were made during the operation, which included arrests for; possession of dangerous weapons, possession of stolen vehicle, possession for sales of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
Operation such as this, are done periodically to ensure the ongoing safety of residents throughout the County of San Bernardino.
