FONTANA A 20-year-old victim was robbed Tuesday night, after agreeing to buy a phone advertised on Craigslist. According to the victim, he contacted a subject who was selling a cell phone advertised on Craigslist. The victim and the subject agreed to meet in the area of Cypress and Filbert for the sales transaction. While waiting in his vehicle, the victim was approached by one suspect on foot who stated he would go get the phone. The suspect walked over to an unknown description vehicle and returned with a black semi-auto handgun. The suspect pointed the gun at the victim at which time another suspect came up from behind him and placed his hand over his mouth, taking him to the ground. One of the suspects demanded to know where the money was and retrieved it from the victim's vehicle, then, both fled on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money. The Fontana Police Department is among a growing number of departments in California and across the nation, encouraging residents to use their parking lots during the day to prevent any Craigslist-related crimes from occurring.
