The two youths were walking home after school Friday in the 4100 block of E Street near Cajon High School when a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt walked up to them, pulled out a handgun and demanded their property, officials wrote in a news release.googleoff: all
The man then ran toward the school, and the victims called the sheriff’s department. Law enforcement swarmed the area, set up a perimeter and began a search with help from a sheriff’s helicopter crew, the release said.googleoff: all
Officials found the man on the school grounds and identified him as 19-year-old Darion Materos Miller.googleoff: all
The officials arrested the man on suspicion of robbery and possession of a gun in a school zone, jail logs show.googleoff: all
He was booked into Central Detention Center and held in lieu of $100,000 bail, the logs show.googleoff: all
Investigators also found the gun used and the stolen property, which they returned to the victims, the release said.googleoff: all
Nobody was injured, and the incident is under investigation.
