The chili cook-off will consist of two competitions. The first chili cook off competition is expected to have 20 professional cooks from neighboring states to compete in a cook-off which is sanctioned by the International Chili Society and the winner will be crowned the California state champion. Each competitor will be cooking on the street and follow strict guidelines.googleoff: all

The second competition will include Riverside City council member, Chris MacArthur, with members and local restaurants will compete in the other chili cook-off contest.googleoff: allgoogleon: all
And because the event is so popular, Riverside City College’s Culinary Academy is bringing its own chili because the chili tends to run low during the event.googleoff: all

Along with the chili cook-off competition, there will be a salsa competition. Contestants will be submitting one pint of salsa for judging. The salsa fresca, pico de gallo, blended from fresh or canned ingredients, or made from dried peppers. The salsa may be red or green.googleoff: allgoogleon: all
There will be two stages for live bands. All bands are local talent and the lineup includes The Sedans, Almost Anywhere, Soul Shake, Fast Forward and Back Pages.googleoff: all

Classic cars will be showcased and the two beer gardens will include beers from local breweries Hanger 24 and Wicks.googleoff: allgoogleon: all
Arrive early and come hungry. Entrance to the event will be free with but bring cash for chili tastings.
