Stolen Cellphone at Knott’s Berry Farm Leads to Drug Bust at Hesperia Home: Sheriff’s Dept.

The Sheriff’s Department identified them as: Stacey Shelton, 49, of Hesperia; Michael Shelton, 47, of Hesperia; Michael Walker, 22, of Hesperia; Bobby Turner, 39, of Hesperia; Dina Gorman, 51, of Rancho Cucamonga; and Michael Funderburg, 49, of Rancho Cucamonga.

Deputies uncovered a drug stash and THC extraction lab at a home in Hesperia on Saturday while investigating a report of a cellphone stolen from a woman at Knott’s Berry Farm, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

After reporting the phone stolen, the victim was able to track it to a residence in the 11200 block of Fourth Avenue (map), a news release from the Sheriff’s Department said.

At about 1 a.m., deputies arrived and contacted the homeowner, 49-year-old Stacey Shelton, who allegedly admitted to stealing the cellphone at the theme park, according to the release.

While at the home, they also discovered a THC extraction lab, authorities said. A sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team then went to the house and executed a search warrant.

In addition to the cellphone, investigators with the unit recovered evidence that allegedly showed an operating THC lab was in place, sheriff’s officials said in the release.

“The THC extraction process is extremely dangerous and has a high potential for explosion due to the use of large amounts of flammable chemicals during the extraction process,” the release stated. “This chemical process is illegal and is a violation of California’s Health & Safety Code.”

Additionally, marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were allegedly uncovered at the home.

Investigators also found marijuana in a 13-year-old’s bedroom, and Stacey and Michael Shelton allegedly admitted smoking the drug with their child, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Children and Family Services were called in and the teen was removed from the location.

Six people were arrested in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call the sheriff’s Gangs / Narcotics Division at 909-890-4840.
