LANCASTER, Calif.
A Lancaster mother of a 22-year-old woman with cerebral palsy and severe mental disabilities has gotten her wish granted.Eyewitness News talked to Dayna Bennett in April about her need for a wheelchair lift van. The mother had been lugging her daughter's 100-pound wheelchair in and out of her minivan since adopting her five years ago.
Fundraisers helped raise money for the vehicle, but it was Better Life Mobility Centers, a handicap van dealer, that came in with the rest. "When we heard about the story here, we were very compelled to do something in order to see what we could do to help. We actually donated a portion of the vehicle to help make this happen today," said Mo Abusham, owner of Better Life Mobility Centers.
