San Bernardino firefighters battled a small brush fire that threatened homes on the city’s east side Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly before 2:30 p.m. several calls flooded into 9-1-1 dispatchers.
Four fire engines raced to the 2400 block of Highland Ave. where firefighters found a field on fire directly behind the Coco’s Restaurant, officials said.
“The grass was so dry the fire moved quickly through the field,” spokesman Mike Arviso said. “The fire found its way up against a block wall threatening the back sides of homes.”
