SAN BERNARDINO >> A man who allegedly shot a person and carjacked another last October outside of a San Bernardino bar is scheduled to be arraigned in San Bernardino County Superior court today.
Aldo De la Cruz, 34, of Muscoy was charged with two counts of attempted murder, carjacking and taking a vehicle without consent, according to the criminal complaint.
De la Cruz was arrested Friday while investigating a complaint of squatters living in a San Bernardino home, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said. He was scheduled to be in court Monday, but records show he was not present for his arraignment. A reason was not immediately given as to why De la Cruz did not show up for court.

In the early-morning hours on Oct. 12, deputies were called to the area of the 2000 block of Highland Avenue for a shooting.
Deputies found a man suffering from gunshots wounds in a red Nissan Altima that had crashed into a rod iron fence, according to Jodi Miller, spokeswoman for the sheriffs’ department.
During the investigation, bullet casings were found at La Consentida Bar located at 1950 Highland Ave. Investigators also learned a man had his truck carjacked at gun point, allegedly by the same person who had shot the man in the Nissan.

Authorities received a lead on Dec. 23, of last year when a deputy was called out to a crash in the area of June and Darby streets in Muscoy, she said.
The deputy saw the driver run from the vehicle, however a second man was still sitting in the crashed truck.
The deputy learned the driver’s first name was Aldo but didn’t get a last name, officials said.
Authorities learned the truck was the same one taken from the bar on Oct. 12.
The carjacked truck was returned to the owner, however the keys were still missing.

It appeared Aldo, later positively identified as De la Cruz, with keys in hand, allegedly stole the truck a second time.
Through the investigation and positive Identification from a witness, De la Cruz was identified as the suspect of the attempted murder and carjacking from the bar. The case was filed with the District Attorney’s Office, he was charged and an arrest warrant was issued, officials said.
De la Cruz was booked into the Central Detention Center without incident and is being held on $3.35 million bail.
