Volunteers Needed For One Day Mojave River Cleanup Campaign


The City of Victorville is teaming up with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Project H.O.P.E. (Homeless Outreach and Proactive Enforcement Team), for a one day cleanup effort.

The purpose of this event is to clean the

Mojave River basin of debris left behind after the relocation of the encampments along the Mojave River.

Volunteers are needed for this cleanup effort. The one-day effort will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2015, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Volunteers will meet at 16868 Stoddard Wells Road. The location is on the west side of I-15, at the empty lot north of Motel 6.

All volunteers are required to complete a waiver which can be found on the City of Victorville’s website at www.victorvilleca.gov. Waivers must be turned in to Victorville City Hall, Community Services Department, by Fax to 760-269-0024, or by email to jgarcia@victorvilleca.gov, by Thursday, June 11, 2015.

Volunteers must wear closed toe, flat shoes, and must wear long pants. Litter sticks, gloves, trash bags, and water will be provided.
