SAN BERNARDINO >> Police are investigating a fatal crash near Perris Hill Park on Monday night.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Rudy Guzman, 69 of San Bernardino, was driving a dark colored minivan in excess of 60 mph southbound in the 2300 block of Harrison Street, according to police.
Police say that’s when Guzman allegedly struck a man, killing him.
Guzman then crossed over Highland Avenue fast enough to get the minivan airborne before crashing into a BMW and finally stopping by crashing into a tree.
Firefighters on the scene said Guzman suffered minor lacerations to the head. He was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.

Detectives are on scene and they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. Police are withholding the name of the victim, who they believe may have been homeless, until his next-of-kin has been notified.
Guzman was arrested for suspicion of DUI causing serious or fatal injuries.
