Residents extinguish fire in 'fully engulfed' shopping cart

HESPERIA — Scanner traffic around 8:50 a.m. Thursday reported that a shopping cart was "fully engulfed" in flames in the middle of Santa Fe Avenue near Spruce Street.

San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters received the call and arrived at the scene around 8:56 a.m. The fire was out when they arrived, extinguished by local residents.

The cause of the fire is not known.
