Authorities at the scene were unsure of the driver’s condition. CHP officers didn’t say whether drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash, but they believe excessive speed was a factor.
CHP officials said it’s under investigation. The Sig Alert was lifted shortly before noon, and Caltrans reopened all lanes.
