San Bernardino police cite 30 bike riders, pedestrians

A citywide safety enforcement operations for bicyclists and pedestrians by San Bernardino police on Monday resulted in 86 citations issued.

In the operation from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., police contacted 57 motorists, 12 bicyclists and 31 pedestrians.

They cited seven bicycles and 23 pedestrians. Additionally, one person was arrested for an outstanding warrant, while 13 drivers were cited for driving without a license or with suspended or revoked licenses. Ten cars were impounded.

This program was part of San Bernardino Police Department’s ongoing efforts to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in traffic collisions. Funding for this operation is provided by a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through the California Office of Traffic Safety.
