COLTON >> Police here spent Thursday morning investigating a death along the Santa Ana River Trail after a cyclist reported finding a body along the path.
The victim, according to Officer Todd Smith with the Colton Police Department, is an “Hispanic male in his mid-40s.”
the unidentified man’s body was discovered about 5:30 a.m. by a bicyclist on the Santa Ana River Trail near the La Cadena underpass.

The Police Department is calling it a death investigation. “At this point, we’re trying to pull it all together,” Smith said. “There was some trauma to the man’s head, but it’s still undetermined (the cause of death) at this point.”
The Santa Ana River Trail reopened for use just after 1:30 p.m.
