VICTORVILLE — San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies are searching for a vehicle after a hit-and-run crash on Monday.
Authorities received reports of a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hesperia and Nisqualli Roads in Victorville around 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Two vehicles with slight damage were stopped on the right hand side of Hesperia Road, with both drivers reporting another vehicle had hit both of them before leaving the scene.
"I was stopped at the light on Nisqualli Road (heading east) when I was hit," says Joseph Laureano, from Victorville, whose black Kia Soul was hit on the back passenger side.
Laureano said the vehicle then tried to pass him and collided with another vehicle, a white Dodge Caravan, on the front driver side, causing damage to the front fender.
The suspect vehicle, described as a "white or light colored late 1980's Ford Ranger/Chevy S10 truck," then "stopped for about a minute before making a U-turn and leaving the scene" heading west on Nisqualli Road, according to Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Gaddie, who responded to the collision.
Laureano reported that the vehicle had a "handicapped license plate" and had sustained damage on one of its front wheels, but he was unable to get the license plate number before the vehicle took off.
"Right now, we don't have much to go on besides the vehicle and driver description," Gaddie said. "We will be doing an area search to try to find the vehicle."
The driver of the vehicle was described as an older white man with a white beard. No inuries were reported.
