Hesperia, CA: A 2nd alarm fire destroys pub.San Bernardino County Fire Department raced to a fire burning at the pub in Hesperia, California at early Tuesday morning.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, at around 2:50am PT on Tuesday, August 4th, 2015, firefighters responded to an early morning 2-alarm commercial fire at the Main Street Pub located in a strip mall on the 17100 block of Main Street in Hesperia, California.
Upon firefighter arrival, smoke was billowing from the roof top of the building.Firefighters quickly acknowledged there were no occupants inside and began an aggressive attack; gaining the upper hand on the fire and extinguishing it within 30 minutes. Firefighters were instrumental in keeping the fire from spreading to the attached businesses and adjacent strip mall. The Pub itself is located at the corner of a strip mall containing eight businesses in all.At least 30 San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters responded to the scene.
Main Street was closed from E Avenue to G Avenue for several hours due to firefighting activity. Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the morning conducting mop-up operations.The business was closed at the time of the fire, however three employees were still working inside when the fire started and were able to safely evacuate. There were no injuries reported.
The roof completely collapsed, rendering the business a total loss.San Bernardino County Fire Department Investigator Tim Tate is conducting the investigation and stated although the cause of the fire remains under investigation it does not appear to be arson at this time.

San Bernardino County Fire Department Firefighters wants to remind the public that it is never safe to enter a structure where there is a suspected or confirmed fire.
The best action is to safely evacuate and call 911 from a location outside of the burning structure. No belongings are worth losing one’s life. The business has been declared a total loss. Three employees were safely evacuated.
