Serial rapist goes on 1-hour crime spree

FONTANA > An accused serial rapist is behind bars after a weekend crime spree. Ernest Garcia, 35, of Fontana was captured after attempting to enter three apartments and a home during a 1-hour time span. Police say that Garcia was armed with a knife and slashed one person during the early morning intrusions in a neighborhood between Third Street and East Court Street. Residents of the house had confronted Garcia in the front yard when police arrived and took Garcia into custody. Garcia had initially been sought for the rape of a woman in her Third Street apartment last June.
