Two Men Arrested For Throwing Puppies From Vehicle

Two men are behind bars for allegedly throwing two puppies out of a vehicle and running one of them over.

Barstow News> According to authorities,this past week on August 13, 2015 at approximately 10:56 a.m. Deputy Mamon from the Barstow Sheriff’s Station was contacted by a female who advised she had an injured puppy in her back seat and was on her way to the vet.

She told Deputy Mamon that two Hispanic males in their twenties were driving a burgundy, Jeep Cherokee, had stopped near Waterman Rd. and Ramirez Rd. in Barstow and threw two puppies out of the passenger door. Prior to them leaving one of the puppies ran under their truck tire, the suspects then drove off running over one of the puppies.

Deputy Mamon responded to where the Jeep was last seen and was able to locate the vehicle and both subjects.

The subjects, later identified as 22-year-old Nathanial Herrera, and 21-year-old Victor Galindo confirmed their involvement.

Both Herrera and Galindo were booked for felony animal cruelty charges at the Barstow County Jail. At the time of the report the rescued puppy was still in critical condition.
