SAN BERNARDINO – The completion of the new downtown transit center will be marked Monday during a 9am ceremony. Omnitrans will operate the center on West Rialto Avenue between ‘E’ and ‘F’ streets. The hub connects more than a dozen bus routes including the sbX green line serving about 6,000 passengers a day. By early 2017, Metrolink’s San Bernardino rail line will be added and eventually the Redlands rail extension. The $25 million transit center includes a terminal building and 22 bus bays. The 4-acre complex opens to the public September 8th.
