WWF sets up an on-site cooking demonstration in the name of environmental protection.

Meal Cooked On Asphalt Raises Awareness About Global Warming

Chef Rodolfo Angenscheidt was challenged to concoct a delectable meal using eggs and meat for a few event participants. The stove he used was nothing more than an asphalt painting outlined with white contour lines. The alarming fact that heat in the capital is now an alternative to gas and electricity should be enough justification for people to make proper protective measures before it’s too late.

Hosted in Asunción, capital city of Paraguay, the “Global Warming Menu” event cooked up some sizzling flavor in the name of environmental protection by using the asphalt as a cooker, demonstrating just how high the temperature can reach in the hottest city of the world. But more importantly, the choice of location is explained by the sad fact that today Paraguay is one of the most deforested countries in South America, having seen an estimated 80% cut in its native forests during the past 50 years.
