SACRAMENTO – Governor Brown Jr. signed an executive order Monday in response to destructive cyber-attacks. Brown warns that California is increasingly vulnerable economic disruption, critical infrastructure damage, privacy violations and identify theft. Under the order, the governor’s Office of Emergency Services will establish the California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC). A multi-agency Cyber Incident Response Team will serve as the state’s primary unit to lead cyber threat detection, reporting, and response in coordination with public and private entities across the state.
