Deputies seize 11,000 pot plants in Newberry Springs

NEWBERRY SPRINGS — The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department seized more than 11,000 marijuana plants along with other contraband and arrested more than 30 people at 17 locations in Newberry Springs this week, officials announced Wednesday. The Sheriff’s Department's Marijuana Enforcement Team, Gang Team and law enforcement officers from C.A.M.P (Campaign Against Marijuana Planting) conducted investigations resulting in the service of 17 search warrants on Monday and Tuesday.

Officials say the locations were found to have large-scale outdoor marijuana cultivations in unsecured, fenced-in areas.
