We lost a wonderful deputy last night - Deputy Cecilia Hoschet "We lost a wonderful deputy last night," said Sheriff Jim McDonnell. She enjoyed being a deputy and really liked people. She leaves behind a 6 year-old son, whom she loved dearly. Sh...e will be missed," he said. Deputy Cecilia Hoschet worked at the Inmate Reception Center of the Los Angeles County jail. She served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for two years, having begun her career in a civilian capacity. Her son is in the care of relatives. *** (News Release) LASD SIB: *Update* #LASD Homicide Detectives Investigate Murder-Suicide 5000 blk of Crown Ave, La Canada Flintridge Sent 4:21am, Monday, Sept. 7,2015 Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspicious death of a female adult in the 5000 block of Crown Avenue, La Canada Flintridge. Deputies responded to “a woman screaming” call in the 5000 block of Crown Avenue, La Canada Flintridge. Deputies made entry into the residence and found a 32 year-old female victim of a gunshot wound. The victim, an off duty deputy sheriff and 2 year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives learned that the husband of the victim, a firefighter and 5 year veteran of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, entered the residence and allegedly shot the female victim. The suspect then fled the scene and drove to Los Angeles County Fire Facility in Pacoima, where he killed himself. The suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Homicide detectives were notified of the suspect’s location by the Los Angeles Police Department after they had responded to a Los Angeles County Fire Facility where they had found a dead body. A weapon was recovered.
