SAN BERNARDINO: 70-year-old man dies after being struck in crosswalk

A 70-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a semi-truck in San Bernardino on Monday, Sept. 7, authorities said.googleoff: all

The man was crossing the crosswalk on 5th Street not far from the Intersate 215 soutbound offramp when he was struck by a 2008 Kenworth semi-truck, according to a California Highway Patrol news release.googleoff: all

The driver of the truck, Luis Miguel Cabuto, was making a right turn at 5:42 p.m. Monday from the Interstate 215 offramp onto westbound 5th Street when he struck the 70-year-old man with the front right side of his truck, according to the release.googleoff: all

The 70-year-old man suffered severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by arriving emergency personnel, according to the release.googleoff: all

The Highway Patrol is asking anyone who may have seen the crash to call its San Bernardino office at 909-383-4247.
