The Marine killed in the accident was assigned to 1st Marine Division, based out of Pendleton.
According to the unit public-affairs officer 1st Lt. Colleen McFadden, the crash involved personnel with the 1st Marine Division.
The crash, which occurred at around 2 p.m., is now being investigated, KSWB-TV reports. The name of the deceased Marine will not be disclosed for 24 hours until the relatives have been informed of his death, which is standard Marine Corps policy.
