RANCHO CUCAMONGA >> A baby on her way into this world decided she wasn’t patient enough to wait until mom and dad arrived at the hospital Friday afternoon.
John Hernandez was driving wife Candice to the hospital as her contractions got closer and closer, sheriff’s officials said in a Facebook post.
That’s when he decided to pull over next to a field at Arrow Route and Archibald Avenue and call 911, sheriff’s officials said.
Sgt. Anthony Vega, assigned to the Rancho Cucamonga station, heard the call on the radio and came to the couple’s aid.

“Sgt. Vega assisted John with the delivery,” officials said. “He was coaching him until Emma Rose Hernandez made her debut.”
Vega wrapped the newborn up in her father’s shirt until the ambulance arrived.
