A tattoo artist was beaten with a pipe and robbed mid-tattoo Tuesday, Oct, 6, in San Bernardino.
The tattoo artists suffered lacerations to the head and swelling on the wrist in the attack, which occurred about 5:15 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of East Lynwood Drive, said Sgt. Vicki Cervantes of the San Bernardino Police Department. Two male suspects remain at large.
One of the suspects was the victim's client, Cervantes said. The victim made arrangements to tattoo the suspect in the apartment complex's courtyard.
The suspect reportedly told the victim that he didn't have the money for the tattoo on him, but that his girlfriend would bring it later. In the meantime, the victim began tattooing the suspect. After a while, the suspect led the victim into the apartment complex's carport where the girlfriend was supposed to meet them.
But instead of the suspect's girlfriend waiting in the carport, it was another man armed with a pipe.
The suspects both proceeded to beat the victim, Cervantes said. They took his wallet and left him on the ground.
