Home invasion robber sentenced for murder

The second of two men charged in a shooting during a Rialto home invasion robbery that left two people dead is likely to spend the rest of his life in prison. Lee Fort, 44, was among as many as five suspects involved in the 2011 incident. He was convicted of 2nd degree murder and burglary and was sentenced Friday to 60 years to life behind bars One of Fort’s alleged accomplices, Andrew Stewart, was identified by Rialto police as the driver of a get-away vehicle, but Stewart was acquitted of all charges. A third intruder, Earlwin Johnson, was killed in the shootout with the homeowner, Ronnie Simon, who also died.
