Apple Valley 93 October’s changeable weather is giving Southern Californians lots of variety. Sandwiched in between hot spells is a chance of rain. The storm that struck a week ago has been wandering around the Southwest and may pay a return visit Tuesday through Thursday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are predicted. Warmer, drier weather is on deck for late in the week. October usually generates the last of the year’s triple digit days. There have been 29 days of 100-degree heat in the Riverside-San Bernardino area so far this year. Last year there were 31. The 10-year average is 31, based on official temperatures recorded by the National Weather Service.
