The Adelanto City Council on Wednesday night will hear the second reading of an OK'd ordinance allowing medical marijuana cultivation facilities within city limits.
The plan was recently revised to align with state law after Gov. Jerry Brown signed a trio of bills aimed at regulating the medical marijuana industry.
If the second reading is approved, the city's ordinance will take affect 30 days later.
The Council also is expected to hear a second reading for a rental inspection and maintenance plan to crack down on absentee landlords, and hear an appeal by applicants whose 1,000-bed jail proposal was rejected by the Planning Commission.
The Council will meet at 7 p.m. inside Council chambers at the Adelanto Governmental Center, 11600 Air Expressway.
