Candidates await outcome of Tuesday elections

INLAND EMPIRE – The 2015 election year winds up Tuesday with an assortment of municipal, school board and special district races on the ballot. But, not all cities have elections. Much attention is focused on bankrupt San Bernardino where four City Council seats and the jobs of City Attorney, City Clerk and City Treasurer are on the ballot. The attorney and clerk are unopposed. Ward 3 councilman John Valdivia is also unopposed. There are 13 candidates for the three remaining council seats. If necessary, run-off elections will be held February 2nd. Four trustees are to be elected to the governing board of the San Bernardino City Unified School District. In Riverside County, school districts with trustee positions to be filled include Banning, Menifee, Perris, Riverside and San Jacinto. Polls will be open Tuesday from 7am to 8pm. Voters with mail-in ballots should submit them at any polling place in their county of registration or at the County Registrar of Voters offices in Riverside and San Bernardino.
