Icy, snowy mountain roads pose hazards

INLAND EMPIRE > Holiday motorists were met with snow and icy roads in the San Bernardino Mountains Thanksgiving night. Fifteen vehicles got sidelined near Lake Gregory blocking Route 189. A segment of Highway 18 near Crestline was also closed. The California Highway Patrol issued Sigalerts and posted chain requirements. Briefly heavy showers hop-skotched across the Metro area. Near Eastvale, a late Thursday night crash on Interstate 15 killed a man and injured a child. Both were ejected when a vehicle overturned.
