SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.
San Bernardino police officers are searching for a man suspected of kidnapping and carjacking a woman on Wednesday afternoon. Around 5:35 p.m., San Bernardino police received reports of a possible kidnapping and carjacking taking place in a Stater Brother's Market parking lot in the 400 block of East Baseline Street.
Officers learned that Kimberly Barnes, 49, of San Bernardino, was involved in an argument over money with a man and a woman she knew. During the argument, Barnes was physically assaulted and her car keys were taken. Barnes was then taken from the parking lot as a passenger in her own car, authorities said. Her car, a gold 1996 Lexus ES300 four-door sedan, was later found and the woman of interest was arrested. Barnes and the man have not been found, and authorities are asking for the public's help to find them. Anyone with information is asked to call SBPD Detective W. Flesher at (909) 384-5655 or Sgt. B. Birnbaum at (909) 384-5615.
