SAN BERNARDINO Reported crime in the city surged ahead in 2015 erasing a 3-year decline. Figures just issued showed a 15.1 percent gain led by aggravated assaults, burglaries and vehicle thefts. Homicides would have declined in 2015 had it not been for the mass terrorist killings in December. The overall number of reported crimes last year eclipsed 13,000, the most in 10-years. The violent crime index rose by nearly 27 percent while property crimes increased by just over 12 percent.
