LAKE ARROWHEAD: Hiker missing for 2 days found 'in good spirits and good health'

Kimly Kittridge, 53 of Lake Arrowhead

After being lost in the wilderness east of Lake Arrowhead for two days, a 53-year-old hiker has been found and was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center on Wednesday morning.

A search team found Kimly Rae Kittridge just after 10 a.m., about 1,600 feet downstream from where she was last seen on Memorial Day.

“She was in good spirits and good health,” said Deputy Gil Flores with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Twin Peaks station.

Kittridge was first airlifted to Mountain Community Hospital in Lake Arrowhead, then was transferred to Loma Linda for care, officials said.

Kittridge, of Lake Arrowhead, was at the Fisherman’s Camp area of Green Valley Lake near Crab Flats on Monday afternoon. About noon, she went for a hike with friends in the Fisherman’s Trail area, according to a sheriff’s statement.

Kittridge believed she dropped something on the trail and went back to look for it. When she did not return, friends became worried and called for help, officials said.

Over the next two days, several search crews including members of the sheriff’s Aviation Division, the Twin Peaks Station and the Rim Search and Rescue Team helped look for Kittridge.
