Fontana: Dakari Moore suspected of attempted murder following downtown shooting

A man was arrested Sunday, May 29, after allegedly shooting at a vehicle near downtown Riverside, police officials said Friday.

Nobody was hurt when 25-year-old Dakari Moore allegedly opened fire on a vehicle in the 3700 block of Orange Street about 2 a.m. on Sunday, Riverside Police said in a Facebook post. Lt. Christian Dinco said Friday that the car was hit several times, but nobody inside was struck.

The motive behind the shooting is still unclear, but police know Moore and some others had an argument beforehand.

The Fontana man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken to the Robert Presley Detention Center, jail records show. Moore had not posted the $1 million bail by noon Friday.

Video footage posted on the internet after the fact leads police officers to believe that there are other witnesses to the incident, officers said in a Facebook post on the department's page. Those wanting to provide police with information can call Detective Eric Meier at 951-353-7242.
