After a two-month investigation, Fontana police here arrested a Victorville man suspected of contacting a minor online for the purpose of having sex.
Fontana’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has been working an investigation into adults arranging to meet children for sex. During this investigation, detectives learned Benjamin Kniss, 34 of Victorville allegedly arranged to meet a 16-year-old Fontana girl.
Police say late Wednesday, June 9, around 10 p.m., Kniss arrived at a meeting place they arranged with him during their sting operation. Instead of meeting the girl, Kniss was met by detectives who placed him into custody, according to a police news release.
He was booked at West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of arrangement to meet a minor for the purposes of sex. Booking records show Kniss was released on bail.
