SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -
More than 100 dogs and nearly 40 cats were removed from Paws Rescue Ranch in the Morongo Basin on Friday as part of an ongoing animal neglect investigation by San Bernardino County Animal Control.
On Tuesday morning, veterinarians, professors and students from Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine were taking care of 65 of the removed dogs at the Devore Animal Shelter in San Bernardino. The other animals that were removed are being cared for at two separate facilities; 40 dogs went to the Apple Valley Animal Shelter, and 40 cats were taken to the Yucca Valley Animal Shelter. KESQ and CBS Local 2's Alexandra Pierce is at the Devore Animal Shelter to check on the dogs and see what kind of treatment they require after being removed from Paws Rescue Ranch. She'll also have some information for those who may be interested in adopting one of the animals.
