A woman died after she was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene of the collision in San Bernardino, police said Saturday.

The victim was crossing the intersection of Baseline Street and Crestview Avenue shortly after 10:30 p.m. when the hit-and-run crash occurred, according to a San Bernardino Police Department news release.
She was found by responding officers lying in the roadway.
The victim, who appeared to be in her 60s, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries, according to the release. She has not yet been identified.
Investigators believed she was possibly hit by a black truck, but did not have a detailed description of the vehicle or of the driver.
They are asking anyone who witnessed the fatal collision to call police Detective Peck at 909-384-5664.
No additional information was immediately released.
