NEEDLES, CA: SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR UNLAWFUL SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH A MINOR AND ORAL COPULATION WITH A MINOR.
A teacher’s aide with the Needles Unified School District could be facing child sex charges after she was arrested on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with one of her students, San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials said.
Kaylee Calderon, 22, of Needles was arrested Friday afternoon and released later that evening, according to sheriff’s booking records.
Authorities were first tipped off about the alleged sexual relationship June 30, a sheriff’s statement said.
The information said a teacher’s aide, identified as Calderon, at a Needles continuation school was reportedly having a sexual relationship with one of her students, a 16-year-old boy, officials said.
The sheriff’s Crimes Against Children Detail took over the investigation, and learned the boy and Calderon had been involved in a sexual relationship for five months, according to a sheriff’s statement. The two engaged in sexual intercourse and oral copulation.
Detectives interviewed and subsequently arrested Calderon on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who is more than three years younger than the suspect and oral copulation of a victim under 18 year of age.
Investigators released Calderon’s booking photo in the event Calderon victimized other children, the statement said.
