POMONA >> Pomona police on Thursday released six months’ worth of human trafficking arrest data.
From January 1 to June 30, police here arrested 306 people for prostitution and related crimes, most of which occurred along East Holt Avenue, according to a Pomona police news release.
Digging into the data:
• About 91 percent of the arrests were for misdemeanor crimes.
• Approximately two-thirds of those arrested were women.
• Arrests spiked in March, when 98 were arrested.
• Forty-five percent of those arrested reside in Pomona.
Police officers focused not only on prostitutes but on their “Johns” as well, the news release states.
