A San Bernardino man was arrested after threatening to blow up his home using a blowtorch and natural gas early Sunday evening, police said.
San Bernardino Police responded to a domestic disturbance call on the 300 block of 10th Street at 5:37 p.m., Lt. David Green said.
When officers arrived, the suspect refused to surrender to police, Green said. By 8:45 p.m., he was handcuffed and placed in the back of a police car. Green said he was taken "forcibly," but did not immediately elaborate in a phone interview after the incident.
The man was arrested on suspicion of criminal threats and assault.
Green did not know if the suspect suffered any injuries or if he was intoxicated. Green said he heard that a round was fired at a dog, but didn't know if the animal was injured or killed.
Animal Control officers were staged outside of the house at 9 p.m.
The fire department ventilated the home because the suspect released some gas, Green said.
